Not much care, really. Not
all thing in this life are as durable as your new Sun
Blocker palm leaf hat. Keep away from puppies and parrots and your palm leaf hat should last for years and years. Your hat can be kept clean and fresh-looking if you brush it regularly with an ordinary whisk broom or Turkish towel. If you happen to get it smudged, use water and soap or a mild detergent to clean. Dry in a light airy place--the sun being best. In fact, if you drop your hat overboard or get it soaked in a rain storm, leave it for a day in the sun later to dry out. Always store you hat in a well ventilated location away from extreme humidity. In fact, its a good idea to keep the hat from becoming brittle is to spray it with a spritizer of water occasionally. Your new palm leaf hat is truly an all weather hat--letting you tame the sun and the rain in your own style for a along time to come! |

Shaping your Sun Blocker hat can be fun and it can be styled to the look that pleases you. First, get your hat damp or wet. The wetter you get it the easier it is to shape. If you wish just to spray with a fine mist that's OK or you can give it a good dousing with the hose.

Your crown is already nicely blocked in your hat's style. Shape the brim by bending the sides down in front or rolling the edges toward the crown on the side of the hat. Exaggerate the roll, as the brim will uncurl slightly some when you let it go. Your hat will conform to your new shape. Put it upside down on the crown or on a hook when you take it off. Otherwise, bend it without water as you put it on. It should retain its shape.

| I WHY a Palm Leaf hat? If you need a hat that protects you from the burning rays of the sun and looks good to, this is it. You can wear it in the sun. You can wear it in the rain. Your kid can crush it and it'll will pop back into its old shape. You can get it dirty, then wash with a brush, soap and water. Our palm leaf hats outlast a straw hat ten times over. Most straws these days are flimsy things made in the Orient. That' why they need several layers of lacquer to get them to retain their shape. If they get crushed, its very difficult to get back their original shape. If they get wet, they become a soggy limp rag. Our Sun Blocker hats are made to wear, get wet, be reshaped as often as you like. Most important, no sun gets through. |
